- Graduated with honors from Rutgers-Camden Law School in 1992, clerked with Hon. Barry M. Weinberg, J.S.C. in Camden County Superior Court
- Joined Bressler, Amery & Ross in 1993, where he gained substantial experience in corporate law, representing both Fortune 500 companies and numerous smaller and mid-sized corporations and partnerships
- Moved to Niedweske Barber in 2005, becoming the attorney for Helmsley-Spear, the legendary property management firm founded by Harry Helmsley
- Started the Law Firm of Daniel T. Kopec in 2006 to focus on the many unmet needs of Homeowner Community Association as well as the growing needs of Business Community Associations
